Michigan State Lands Two Major Blocks on Field Goal vs. Baylor

How about those Spartans!!!

In the Cotton Bowl Comeback, Michigan State managed to block a field goal down 41-35 late in the fourth quarter. The field goal would have put Baylor up 44-35 and essentially ended the game. But then this happened.

There were obviously two great blocks on the field goal. The blocked kick on Chris Callahan’s was one, but the next block was when Callahan tried to make a tackle. And he got walloped.

  • Not only was that incredibly exciting to see, but it also set the stage for the final Michigan State drive for the Spartans to win the game 42-41.

That block was actually a big deal when it comes to field position. It was clear that Michigan State sold out to make that block as well on the kick.

Simply put, it’s the most exciting missed field goal missed since the Iron Bowl in 2013, and we all know what happened in that game.

The Spartans also at least shut up Baylor and Art Briles with all of his annoying talk about Baylor belonging in the national championship game. It’s kind of hard to say that when you blow a three-score lead to the Spartans in the Cotton Bowl.

And this had to be the play of the game.
