The Oregon Ducks history is obviously very new. They have no national championships to speak of, and before Rich Brooks, success was sporadic.
However, with an advanced system and Nike pouring money into the program, the Ducks have turned into the face of the Pac-12 and a college football powerhouse.
So while a national championship would be amazing for Oregon, this might already be the best Oregon Ducks team of all time. A national championship would obviously cement that.
But up to this point, in their short history, the Ducks have already fielded some legendary teams that may not have won a national championship. And many of their players are in the NFL.
It is kind of odd to see a program with not as much history as other schools consistently in the thick of the national title race, but hey, there was once a time when Florida State, Florida, and Miami were irrelevant to the world of college football. Yet since 1983 those three schools have combined for a third of the college football national championships.
So before we go into where this Oregon team could rank in the school’s history, let’s take a look at the past. Here are the Top 5 Oregon Ducks football teams in school history before this year.
