The Ohio State Buckeyes can thank wide receiver Jalin Marshall for getting them in the game with the Oregon Ducks in the national championship on Monday.
Down 7-0, the Buckeyes were stopped the first time they had the ball.
Then, they were pinned deep, still down 7-0. This happened to spark them.
Marshall’s amazing catch gave the Buckeyes tons of momentum, and it may not happen without that play. Oregon appeared poised to be piling on Ohio State, but this changed the mood of the game. Marshall would later have an amazing run to get a first down, but this was the play that got the team going.
Marshall’s play-making ability is nothing new this season. Don’t forget what he did to give this team a comeback win in the second half against a lowly Indiana Hoosiers team.
These things are expected from him.
No matter what happens at the end of the national championship game, Marshall deserves loads of credit for getting the Buckeyes back into the game.
Plays like these are what championships are all about. It’s what champions are made of. And although it’s not the same league, same situation, or same team, we can compare that play to “The Catch.”
