This year’s NFL Pro-Bowl already has some interesting storylines. Miami, Alabama, and Cal dominate everybody else in terms of representation in the game.

And Georgia comes after that.

Also, as we have noted, Shippensburg University, a Division II school has two players in the Pro Bowl, more than five FBS schools within its region.

Now, it’s time to throw in a little conference pride. Where do the conferences stand in terms of players represented in the Pro Bowl? How many of them were selected or replacements?

That last part is only a tiebreaker.

Anyway, as we rank the Top 5 conferences by players in the Pro Bowl, we are going to go by players per team. It’s obviously not fair to the Big 12, which has 10 teams, to go only by quantity when three other conferences have 14 teams.

Just as a matter of interest, there are two independents, each from Notre Dame.

And nine players came from non-FBS schools. It seemed like a pretty obvious thing to point out that no non-FBS conference would be among the Top 5 for players in the Pro Bowl. That would be remarkable.

Here are the rankings for the Top 5 conferences with the most Pro Bowlers.
