This is one guy who would obviously be put on the list. Joe Montana is the only national championship winning quarterback in college who is in the conversation for greatest NFL quarterback of all time. That conversation only exists because of his four Super Bowls and national championship at Notre Dame.
All of those matter, and Joe’s amazing comebacks that he led in the 1970s with the Irish are to be commended. But his championship and great first year as a starter are the only reason he is even on this list. After all, Montana threw as many interceptions as he did touchdowns in college.
So he barely makes the list and is considered the greatest quarterback of all time.
That’s a start in showing how stupid the ring argument is.
