4. Who Wins the State of Texas?

From the beginning of college football until about two years ago, this might possibly have been the most laughable question in the world. It is well known that Texas dominates the state for recruiting, Oklahoma gets what it can while also going more national, and the rest of the state takes secondary players.

But the Kevin Sumlin came and everything changed. All of a sudden, the Texas A&M Aggies were winning once sure-fire recruiting battles, and the result has been a fierce rivalry that never existed during the time the two schools played each other.

This year is no different.

Texas A&M had the early advantage until late in the season, but Charlie Strong has made an amazing push in the past month. Now, the Aggies have the No. 8 ranked class going into National Signing Day, and the Longhorns have the No. 9 ranked class.

Both are also in contention for only one more 5-star player, and it happens to be the same player: running back Soso Jamabo. Still, they have quite a few other battles for 4-stars that could shoot either school up the rankings, so this thing is far from over.

But the fact that we are having this conversation shows how much has changed in this state.
