2. Clemson Tigers

Dabo Swinney aside from Jimbo Fisher may be the best recruiter in the ACC. Swinney continuously puts together top recruiting classes and although Clemson is a top school for history and atmosphere, they do not have a fair playing field with the weather Florida State can offer as well as the life style in Florida. Nonetheless Swinney has added some top end talent as usual that should make it one of the top recruiting classes in the nation not just in the ACC.

Most notable is defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, who may be the best prospect in the entire country. Wilkins is an immediate starter, who can stop the run, but also push the pocket as a rusher. Wilkins has the skill to be a first round NFL draft pick, and now has the national stage to do it in as Clemson is poised for big things this year behind a hopefully healthy Deshaun Watson.

Aside from Wilkins, who is as elite as they come, the Tigers grabbed speedster Deon Cain who can flat out blow past people with his speed, which is already clocked at a 4.4 in the 40 yard dash. Cain will be an immediate starter and should be an impact player from day one due to his hands and elite speed, but needs to work on the route running when he isn’t just blowing past people.

Swinney also recruited one of the top athletes in Ray-Ray McCloud III, who is best suited at cornerback or halfback where he can use his elite speed and quickness to his advantage.

Swinney and the Tigers are poised to make a big run this year, and this year’s class holds a lot of important pieces for that to happen.
