7. Louisville Cardinals

Bobby Petrino may not be the most likable guy, and heck may not be nicest, but that guy can coach. Petrino and his offense seem to translate everywhere (except the NFL) and this year’s class should be very helpful for his team in 2015.

The Cardinals have a number of high impact guys that can play right away, as well as getting a quarterback who was among the top guys in the country. Quarterback Lamar Jackson should end up sitting out in what amounts to a red shirt year while he spends time learning the offense, but he is very talented and although I wouldn’t start him this year, I could see him winning the starting job potentially if Petrino decides to lean that way.

Another guy is wide receiver Devante Peete who has a chance to be very special with elite size (6’6”) and good speed, to go along with the ability to high point the ball. Peete also has a chance to be a good blocker due to his size, but in this offense that is not really required with their yards coming mostly through the air.

The third guy of note is Devonte’ Fields, who was recruited as an athlete, but could be an NFL defensive end if he develops and takes care of himself. Fields is only 240 lbs so he is on the smaller side of things, but he has the quickness to beat tackles and the strength to match it. In today’s passing game nobody can have enough pass rushers and Fields should more than hold his own there.

This class is great for the Cardinals and should allow them to stay in the thick of things for a few more years.
