We’ve seen this before. The Texas Longhorns get a great recruiting class, and it never truly materializes into anything.

Kids will play the Hat Game and make their commits only to never hear from them again. Will it be the same with Charlie Strong? On National Signing Day 2015 it sure did seem like it was 2004 or 2005 for the Longhorns, as Strong and his staff showed their recruiting teeth by pulling in an overall No. 12 ranked recruiting class on Rivals with some bonafide stars on the defensive side of the ball, and even pulling down a few surprises when it came down to it.

This comes after a strong finish to the season before the epic collapse that we all saw in the bowl game.

Who else on Big 12 Signing Day won over the hearts of 17 and 18 year olds to sign them on the dotted line? According to Rivals, there were no Top 10 classes, but there were plenty of solid ones on this day.

Let’s go over a few of the winners and losers in the Big 12 starting with those Longhorns in Texas. Today, we’ll cover half of the conference when it came to recruiting. Check back tomorrow for the next half.
