5. Lee Corso is Better than Dick Vitale

Although Lee Corso is a Gameday analyst for college football while Dick Vitale is primarily an in-game color-commentator for college basketball, they are both used by ESPN to be the colorful, entertaining representation for their respective sports.

And it is not even close which one is better.

Corso, for all of his antics and masks, will always give you brilliant, in-depth analysis. Even at his old age, as his speech slows down a bit, he is still very quick-witted and gives you great insight, showing he is still very aware of everything going on in the sport.

Meanwhile, Vitale is an annoying screamer who always goes for the shock value. He has embraced the notion that if you say something colorful and with a loud voice, then you don’t have to give any in-depth analysis because all people will do is talk about your entertaining antics. He is a complete waste of time on television. Instead of “OHHHHHH BABY!!!” and jumping into the crowd like a wannabe rockstar every five minutes, how about talking about the game?

But this goes to a deeper level to what college basketball is about. It’s not about the sport or the games. It is about making a cheap rock concert with a bunch of morons screaming useless chants the whole time and jumping up and down. If you can do that, you don’t have to know anything.

Just ask Duke fans. Oh, by the way, Vitale’s irrational bias towards Duke is another reason Corso is better.
