A majority of Pennsylvanians support restoring the Joe Paterno statue, according to a Quinnipiac University Poll. 

"Pennsylvanians support 64 – 15 percent the settlement between Penn State and the NCAA restoring the Nittany Lions’ football record, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe- ack) University Poll finds. Again, there is virtually no gender gap, and little difference in support among age groups.“It appears time heals all wounds and legends get a second chance,” said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll."

A rape case involving multiple Tennessee Volunteer football players is headed to a Grand Jury, according to multiple reports, including CBS Sports.

"“Our office has completed a review of [the Knoxville Police Department’s] investigation into the allegations against Alexander Johnson and Michael Williams,” Deputy District Attorney General Kyle Hixson said Tuesday, per the Knoxville News-Sentinel. “The citizens on the grand jury will decide whether Johnson and Williams will be criminally charged for the accusations against them.”Johnson and Williams were each suspended from the Volunteers team in November after a 19-year-old Tennessee student reportedly told police that the two men had raped her in an off-campus apartment. Neither has been arrested, and attorneys for both players said they welcome the grand jury review, as their clients are innocent."

Eastern Washington Quarterback Vernon Adams, who is transferring to Oregon, has been banned from working out with the EWU team or using its athletic facilities, even though he will remain on scholarship while he finishes his degree, according to ESPN.

"Adams was aware those would be the circumstances, Baldwin said, before ultimately choosing the Ducks, who host Eastern Washington in the season opener for both teams Sept. 5.“For the next four months, he can’t prep down there with them and he certainly can’t be in our weight room or throwing with our guys … and I talked to him about that,” Baldwin said. “I go, ‘What’s your plan for the next four months? How are you going to prepare for your senior year? I love you to death, but one, you’re moving on, and two, you’re moving on to who we’re playing in Week 1.'”"

Boise State Offensive Coordinator Mike Sanford Jr. could join Brian Kelly’s staff at Notre Dame, according to 247Sports.

"Sanford is the type of candidate that could ultimately be a successor to Kelly down the road. Besides Notre Dame, he’s interviewed recently at several schools including Ohio State, Oregon State and Vanderbilt.Under Sanford’s direction during his first season at his alma mater this past fall, Boise State ranked 14th nationally in yards per game and ninth in scoring as the Broncos finished 12-2 including a win over Arizona in the Fiesta Bowl."

College football might start testing helmet cameras at some bowl games next year, according to multiple reports, including CBS Sports.

"College football could start testing at some bowl games next season helmet cameras, helmet communication systems and the use of tablets and computers on the sideline, in coaching booths and inside locker rooms, NCAA rules committee chairman Troy Calhoun said Wednesday.Calhoun said the committee is aware that costs may become an issue and doesn’t want a “huge imbalance” competitively. But he expressed a strong desire to turn experiments into rules once the proposed college football competition committee is created in 2016."

Snubbed Louisville recruit Matt Colburn has now signed to play at Wake Forest, according to The State.

"The Dutch Fork running back arrived at his signing ceremony on Wednesday wearing a golden Wake Forest bow tie, and donned a Demon Deacons visor on announcing his choice.“I’m just elated right now, it’s a big relief,” Colburn said to a standing-room-only crowd at Dutch Fork High. “I didn’t think I’d ever be here, and it’s truly a blessing. It’s a tremendous feeling to know that I’ve got everybody here on my side.”"

Former Kentucky Wildcats football player Lloyd Tubman will not be indicted for rape, according to The Courier-Journal.

"After hearing the evidence involved, a Lexington grand jury has decided not to indict former University of Kentucky football player and Seneca High School product Lloyd Tubman on a charge of rape, Fayette County Commonwealth’s Attorney Ray Larson said Wednesday night.He’ll face no more charges from the Fayette prosecutor’s office, Larson said."

Indiana Hoosiers Tight End Jordan Fuchs will join the basketball team, according to ESPN.

"The 6-foot-6, 230-pound Fuchs is eligible immediately and can play in Indiana’s game Wednesday night at Maryland. He appeared in all 12 games for Indiana’s football team last season and had three receptions for 31 yards and a touchdown.Hoosiers basketball coach Tom Crean said in a statement that he has tracked Fuchs “for some time” and would have considered adding him to the roster if Fuchs hadn’t suffered an injury in the football team’s season finale against Purdue in November."
