This might be a surprise to some people to see a player not recruited to Clemson, Florida State, Virginia Tech, or Miami, but Kyle Kearns is a huge get for Coach Clawson and the Deacons.

Kearns has decent size for the position and although he is lean, has little to no mobility so the weight will not be as important as it is for a dual threat quarterback. Kearns has an above average arm as he is able to make all the throws from inside the pocket. He also has very good accuracy for the short to intermediate throws and average accuracy for the deep throws.

In addition to being a completely pocket passer, Kearns has a relatively quick release and has good mental aptitude for the position resulting in him being able to read things faster than most high school quarterbacks do at this stage in their careers.

Furthermore Kearns has relatively good awareness in the pocket, but that will improve with him getting acclimated to the speed of the college game and getting comfortable in the offense.

Overall I think Kearns is a real sleeper to become a true freshman starter, and possibly the best quarterback in the ACC if he is around for his senior year.
