If College Football Programs Were Rappers, Who Would They Be?

Penn State Nittany Lions-Nas
The program is boring, old-school, and forgotten. But it has been a tremendous model for consistent success since the 1960s, going from Joe Paterno to Bill O’Brien to James Franklin.
Nas, meanwhile, can be a boring rapper who is forgotten about, but when you take a look back at his success, you have to consider him one of the Top 5 rappers ever on skill and catalogue alone.
And both have been robbed. Under Joe Paterno, Penn State had multiple undefeated seasons in which they picked up no national championships. Nas, meanwhile, has never won a Grammy Award, which by many people’s estimations is an absolutely pathetic travesty.
The Nas-Jay Z beef appears to be forgotten like the Penn State-Alabama bowl game rivalry, but we have to step back and remember that Nas has a case to be the best rapper to ever come out of New York City. And that is an impressive thing.
Unfortunately, Nas fans are annoying purists who always talk about what real hip hop is, and Penn State fans can be annoying “Victory With Honor” screamers regardless of the scandals that hit the program. So neither are beyond criticism.
