If College Football Programs Were Rappers, Who Would They Be?

Notre Dame Fighting Irish-Jay Z
Every one of the similarities between these two are what sickens me about each.
Notre Dame is a program that acts like it has been anointed by God to lead the world of college football, as if it is on a different level. Jay Z refers to himself as Hov (a God) as if he is beyond the rap empire and gets to own the world. But there’s a problem: Notre Dame has not won a national title in 20 years, and Jigga is not even the wealthiest rapper from his own hometown.
What is even more annoying, though, is the hype behind the two. Every time Notre Dame gets somewhat good they are thrust into the Top 10 and immediately put in the national championship conversation. Meanwhile, every time Jay Z drops an album we have to hear about how brilliant his lyrical abilities are.
But like Notre Dame, Jay hasn’t truly done anything truly good from a lyrical perspective in forever. Seriously, The Blueprint is the last good album he has lyrically, and everything else has been nothing but hype and promotion about Jay Z the businessman. But we have to somehow use that to allude to him as a brilliant lyricist.
It is annoying. And it must stop. But sticking with New York rappers…
