USC Trojans-Diddy
Over his rap career, Diddy has accrued an immense amount of wealth unmatched by most rappers and only surpassed by Dr. Dre, which only happened a couple of years ago when Dre sold Beats by Dre.
But Diddy and USC appear to have had much more legitimate success before the 2000s. Diddy had great artists like Mase, 112, and Faith Evans, while USC had racked up conference and national championships for decades despite a few dry spells.
And their successes in the 2000s is massively tainted. Diddy’s success is tainted by how dirty of a businessman we all believe him to be. Time and time again artists signed with Diddy, dropped one or two successful albums, and then we never heard from them again. This includes Black Rob, Carl Thomas, Shyne, Dream, 8Ball& MJG, Yung Joc, and of course, Danity Kane.
Meanwhile, Diddy’s net worth continued to go up during that time.
USC did the same thing, racking up national championships and Heisman Trophy winners under Pete Carroll while sharing a national championship they had no business sharing and winning it in 2004 without having to play the best team in the country at the time, Auburn, but then vacating it because they were being dirty and cheating. Illegitimate success is what has followed Diddy and USC recently.
