The program with longest winning streak in college football history gets the honor of having the greatest dynasty in college football history, and how can you argue that?

Bud Wilkinson’s Oklahoma Sooners won 47 games in a row during this period and had three straight seasons in which they went undefeated and untied, going 10-0 in 1954, 11-0 in 1955, and 10-0 in 1956.

They won the national championship two of those years but were robbed of it the first year, 1954. Still, the winning streak supersedes the national championship argument. And when you take into account that the Sooners also won the title in 1950, had an undefeated season in 1949, had 11 straight Top 10 finishes from 1948 to 1958 with 10 of those finishes being in the Top 5, that the dynasty stretches over that whole period.

But to do that cheapens the winning streak, so let’s stick with 1953 to 1957. A 47-game winning streak in college football is something that will likely never be matched this day in age, and it is even more impressive than Florida State’s 14 straight Top 5 finishes.

This remains the greatest dynasty in college football history, and there is no real argument against it.
