3. Alabama Crimson Tide, 2009-2012

That’s right, Alabama gets the distinction of being on this list twice. And Nick Saban’s run that he currently in the middle of could extend if the Tide win the national championship this year, but for now, it will stay from 2009 to 2012.

Posting three national championships in that four year span this day in age, when college football has more parity and is more brutal than ever, does not need much explanation. But what is most impressive is that Saban did it in the most boring way: without may superstars.

He has loaded up on good skill players, average quarterbacks, and dominance in the trenches to simply overwhelm opponents, and this beats any dynasty Bear Bryant ever ran at Alabama.

The 10-3 record in 2010 is a little bit of a black mark, but it is a more forgivable mulligan this day in age when there is so much toughness in college football and Saban had to replace an entire defense almost that year.

The 14-0 record in 2009, 12-1 record in 2011, and 13-1 record in 2012 along with total domination in those national championship games are still amazing.

And don’t forget that this dynasty was a fluke play against Auburn away from being extended another year.
