SEC Spring Practice: Biggest Question for Every Team in the Conference
Nov 29, 2014; Louisville, KY, USA; Kentucky Wildcats quarterback Patrick Towles (14) looks to pass against the Louisville Cardinals during the second half at Papa John
Kentucky Wildcats
Biggest Question: How will the offense adjust to new coordinator Shannon Dawson?
Well, Patrick Towles wanted to be Aaron Rodgers, as he so foolishly stated himself this past football season. With an offensive coordinator who will have him throw it even more than he did this past year, he has his chance.
Shannon Dawson comes from the Dana Holgorsen air raid system, and how quickly Towles picks up his offense will tell the story of whether or not Kentucky can take the next step this Fall under Mark Stoops.
For Towles to be successful in the offense, which can certainly be extremely complex at different times, he has got to be able to pick things up in the Spring. This air raid could be the perfect formula for the Wildcats to get back to possibly making bowl games.
And for a bit of history, Dawson does have ties and connections that bring Kentucky back to the Hal Mumme days of the late 1990s, when Tim Couch was putting up 50 points a game.
Perhaps doing that could be enough for the Wildcats to get to 6, 7, or 8 wins in the future. But we have to see how Towles picks up everything first, though.
