And of those 15 changes, seven involved schools at Power Five levels. But surprisingly, only one of those schools, the Florida Gators, actually reached down to the Group of Five rankings to find their new head coach.

Of course, there were a few odd scenarios where Wisconsin called a guy home and Michigan hit the lottery with Jim Harbaugh.

College football head coaches obviously have lots of pressure wherever they go, but that pressure can be higher when they have succeeded everywhere else because the expectations rise.

Right now, there are lots of college football head coaches at the mid-major levels just waiting for their chances to get hired to the next level. Many of them were candidates for coaching jobs last year, but they simply may have not been proven enough.

So who are they? Who are the up and coming coaches at the Group of Five level that would likely move up to the next level when called? And who are the coaches that will continue to prove their qualifications for that next level?

Let’s take a look at the Top 10 up and coming college football head coaches.
