According to ESPN’s Brett McMurphy, Arizona and Texas Tech will play a home-and-home series with each other beginning in 2019. The first game will take place in Tucson, AZ. with the Red Raiders making the short trip out west to take on the Pac-12 team who played in the Pac-12 Championship Game last year.
In 2020, the Red Raiders will play host to Arizona in the back half of the home-and-home.
The two teams first met in 1932 but when they meet on the gridiron (barring any postseason meetings) will be 30 years since their last scheduled game. Texas Tech leads the all-time series 26-4-2 and the 26 wins are the second most to New Mexico for wins against programs outside the state of Texas.
Arizona is the second Pac-12 program to appear on a future schedule for Texas Tech with Arizona State on the schedule for 2016 and 2017.
This is the second future announcement for Arizona who announced a home-and-home beginning in 2022 with the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
