UCF wide receiver Breshad Perriman turned heads at his pro day with a scorching time in the 40-yard dash.

Breshad Perriman was one of the best wide receivers in the American conference in 2014 when he made 50 receptions for 1,044 yards and nine touchdowns to establish career-highs in all categories for UCF.

At 6-3, 214 pounds, Perriman was on the radar for NFL teams as a potential second round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, but after running a blazing 40 at UCF’s pro day, Perriman may have done enough to warrant consideration for the first round.

Perriman showed off his wheels with a 40 that was clocked between 4.22 and 4.27 at the school’s pro day and you can watch his run in the vine below, courtesy of the UCF football Twitter handle. By comparison, the fastest time at the NFL Scouting Combine in February was a 4.28 by UAB’s J.J. Nelson

Perriman is the son of former NFL receiver Brett Perriman who played 10 years in the NFL, enjoying much of his success late in his career with the Detroit Lions.

Brett was a second round pick out of Miami but after running a sub 4.3 40 at his pro day, the younger Perriman has a chance to beat his dad and get drafted sooner than his old man.

This year’s group of wide receivers is shaping up to be just as talented and deep as last year’s class that featured three rookies who had 1,000 yard seasons in Sammy Watkins, Mike Evans and Odell Beckham, Jr.

With Amari Cooper, Kevin White and DeVante Parker the consensus top three at the position, Perriman has a chance to crack the second tier with guys like Jaelen Strong, Dorial Green-Beckham and Devin Smith.
