With some high-profile defenders headed to the NFL, who are the best ACC defensive players entering 2015 spring practice?

The 2014 season in the ACC was filled with lots of NFL caliber defensive players with the likes of Vic Beasley, Gerod Holliman, Eddie Goldman, Mario Edwards Jr. and Denzel Perryman among the first team All-ACC performers with bright futures at the next level.

Furthermore the overall team defenses in the ACC were among the better ones in the entire nation with Clemson, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Boston College and Duke finishing in the top 20 in the country in points allowed per game. If the list was extended to the top 30 defenses in points per game allowed, Florida State would then be added to the aforementioned teams.

With that said, a good majority of the defensive players keying those results are gone and there will be new faces among the top defenses in this conference. Despite the departures there are certainly some players still around that are more than capable of filling those big shoes, meaning the ACC is in very good hands.

Because of those remaining players, I feel comfortable in saying these ACC defenders will be just as good as the ones in 2014. Most of these names will be familiar to some fans who really paid attention last season.

Now on to the top ACC defenders entering the 2015 Spring Practices.
