Despite improving to 5-7 in 2014 and almost making a bowl game, those questions still remain.

The time is now for London to show what he can do with Virginia because he has had plenty of chances and has eight starters back on defense. If the offense can get up to snuff, there is no reason to think Virginia can get back to what we expected them to be when London was coaching his first two years there.

Five bowl misses in six years will be bad enough this year, but four straight will also be terrible and grounds for firing, particularly when you are playing in the weak ACC Coastal Division.

When Mike London was hired by the Virginia Cavaliers in 201o, things appeared to be perfectly on the right track. UVA went 4-8 in 2010 and then 8-5 in 2011 with a Chick-Fil-A Bowl loss.

Then, things went downhill. The Cavaliers remained respectable in 2012, going 4-8 but still having four very close losses that all could have been wins. In 2013, however, the Cavaliers fell to 2-10, and London began to portray himself as a guy who can recruit but can’t make those tough in-game calls when things get close.
