Anyways, despite my bias, I am aware Auburn has a lot of hatred in the SEC, specifically in mid-north Alabama. Auburn’s biggest rival is obviously Alabama. The Iron Bowl is currently the best rivalry in the SEC. It’s unrivaled. There’s been so many historic moments, such as: the ‘kick-six’, Cam Newton’s come from behind game, and ‘Bo over the top’. Yes, all Auburn moments, get over it Alabama fans.

This particular rivalry makes up a bulk of Auburn’s hatred. Auburn and Alabama fans hate each other more than Pepsi hates Coke. In this specific analogy, Pepsi is Auburn and Alabama is Coke. Alabama currently leads the rivalry in wins, 43-35, in the two school’s seventy nine meetings. The Crimson Tide have won five of the past seven meetings, but prior to that, it was the Tigers who have dominated the series since the turn of the millennium.

Besides Alabama, Auburn has gathered hatred from other schools around the SEC, in particular, Georgia. Georgia and Auburn do not like each other, and that’s because Auburn and Georgia have played each other for a long time, dating back to 1892. ‘The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry’ has been played 118 times, and the series is even, which is pretty remarkable.

In recent years, Georgia has dominated the rivalry, outscoring the Tigers, 155-87, in their past four meetings. Auburn’s lone win in the past four years came in 2013 on a miraculous throw and catch on 4th and 18 that won the game for the Tigers.

Auburn’s a team that is well respected and well hated. Their rich history draws hatred from many, but is also admirable to the casual fan. Auburn is hated much, but their ranked only sixth on our list.

I’ll admit some bias here. If a gun was pointed at my head, and I was forced to pick a new favorite team, other than Vanderbilt, it would be Auburn. They and Vanderbilt have no bad blood, and I love the history and traditions that come with being an Auburn Tiger.
