Notre Dame has their spring game on Saturday and these are the top five storylines that you should be paying close attention to when the Fighting Irish are on the field.
Last year Notre Dame had a fantastic start to the year starting 6-0 before losing in the waning seconds against the defending champion Florida State Seminoles. Anyone that watched that Florida State game thought the Irish were going places.

They moved the ball with ease on Florida State, and even saw a mature Everett Golson making good decisions. Golson also made a game saving play heaving a fourth and long pass to Corey Robinson, who the Seminoles had no answer for covering.
This year the expectations are once again high for coach Brian Kelly as he has yet to have a successful season by Notre Dame standards after taking the Irish to the National Title Game in 2012. However this year I think the expectations are valid as most of the offensive weapons return from a year ago, and the defense does not lose any pieces that cannot be replaced.
This may be Kelly’s last year if he suffers another collapse late in the season (2-5 in last seven games) as he cannot continue to hang his hat on the appearance in the championship . This year I think the Irish may be going places, but it all starts and ends with the quarterback situation.
With that being said, on to the things to watch for during the Notre Dame spring game.
