The Offensive Line could be an Issue

This was already an issue with three starters gone from last year, and nothing was done on Friday to nullify those concerns.

And it was worst in pass protection. Giving up four sacks a game is already a problem. When the first team offensive linemen are giving up four sacks to a second team defense, either the defense is much deeper than expected, highly unlikely given the White team gave up 59 points, the offensive line has serious issues to work out, or the quarterbacks have no pocket presence.

Given the way Petrino raved about Bonnafon’s decision making and Bonnafon’s mobility that speaks for itself, the issue is clearly the line.

This is going to be a major issue in the Fall if it does not get worked out in August. Petrino is right to not want to rush to name any starters, but after Saturday, the question may be whether or not he has any.

Because as bad as the first team was, there is no hope in the second team either.

They gave up five sacks, two hurries, and only cleared the way for 33 rushing yards for the White team with barely more than one yard per carry.

Simply put, this is a concern.
