Brandon Radcliff is a Future Star

Last year, Brandon Radcliff made some noise his first full year as a starter, carrying the ball 144 times for 737 yards and 12 touchdowns. And that was after missing two games early in the year.

Now, going into this year, Radcliff had high expectations, and he gave a pretty exciting preview on Friday. The junior running back had seven carries for 57 yards and three touchdowns. He also had 18 receiving yards.

Petrino had been talking Radcliff up for a while, and he looked pretty darn good, particularly given the fact that he had no cohesive unit or depth on the offensive line and was going up a pretty impressive defensive line adds a few more points in his favor.

With Radcliff’s development, the backfield of him and Bonnafon could be deadly this season if they both develop and hold on to their positions. We are talking about a rebuilding year overall for the Cardinals, but there appears to be a lot of talent, particularly at the skill positions.

And Radcliff looks like he is going to be a huge part of that. That’s another reason to be excited about the future.
