player. 15.
Drew Brees is still here, and Marcus Mariota could not handle Sean Payton’s offensive system no matter how hard he tried. He is simply nowhere close to being good enough to make quick reads the way Brees can. So for the New Orleans Saints, upgrading in the trenches should be the focus.

And Randy Gregory of the Nebraska Cornhuskers is the perfect guy to start with.

Gregory might be a bit of a tweener, but he could definitely play defensive end at 6’4″ 235 pounds if he puts on some serious muscle. And that’s what he’ll try to do. This will be a speed end who can get around the edge quickly, and his leverage and quickness will overcome his small frame.

Last year, Gregory picked up five sacks despite missing three games, and remember he played in the Big Ten, a conference loaded with amazing offensive linemen.

Imagine what he can do in the NFL as he continues to develop. And as a quick guy, playing in the speed-friendly Superdome could turn him into a dramatic playmaker.

Gregory is a big risk because of his unique physicality, but the same was said about Dwight Freeney, and that worked out pretty well. New Orleans should take the dive.
. Defensive End. Nebraska Cornhuskers. Randy Gregory. 13
