Quarterback. Florida State Seminoles. Jameis Winston. 1. player. 48.
Jameis Winston has plenty of questions. And he’s a risk. But he is mostly a sure thing if managed right.

Winston needs to be the guy to go No. 1 in the draft to Tampa Bay. Whenever you have a chance to get a potential franchise quarterback, you take him. If he’s got the tools and the intangibles, at that point his success is on the franchise and how they develop him.

Winston showed he has the arm strength, pocket presence, and yes, intangibles through the roof throughout his college career. He’ll study film, do what’s asked of him, work his butt off, and have the ability to rally teammates. All of the comebacks he led last year show his mental toughness.

The risk with Winston is that his accuracy comes and goes. Last year he got bailed out a lot by receivers making plays for him, and the drop-off in his numbers last year can be directly attributed to Kelvin Benjamin’s departure from the year before.

Knowing that, Winston has plenty of work to do, but he comes across as the type of guy who will put in the effort. Outside of one major issue, which will not be brought up, Winston’s off-the-field antics have been overrated by the media. So he took some free soda, shot a BB Gun, got some free crab legs, and shouted expletives on campus.

Sounds like a regular college kid to me. Yeah, he needs to grow up, but he seems well aware of that and never had his intangibles or effort questioned by anyway. Winston’s performance on the field, his experience in a pro-style offense, his work ethic, and his proven intangibles as a quarterback are enough to say that he should be the No. 1 draft pick. His NFL success will depend on how Tampa Bay manages him.
