But an ACL tear last year and multiple injuries throughout his college career have turned him from a surefire NFL superstar into a major risk that many teams rightfully do not want to take.

It is really unfair because labeling people busts based on injury issues is generally not their fault. Even Greg Oden got a raw deal with that label in the NBA Draft.

But it is what it is, and if Gurley is taken in the first round, and there is a strong chance he will be, and he can never stay healthy, then he will have to be considered a bust.

Now, Gurley could be a late first-rounder as well, minimizing his bust potential, but the likelihood of injuries holding him back increases it again.

Unless you are already a very talented team looking for another luxury piece, his injury risk could far outweigh the reward of drafting him.

Running Back, Georgia Bulldogs

In reality, there would not be much debate here if it was not for one factor. The injury risk is the only reason Todd Gurley is not a Top 10 player in this draft.

From a purely skill perspective, Gurley is by far the best all-around running back among anybody in this year’s NFL Draft. He is a great pass-catcher, he is great in open space, he is a great running back in general, and he’s an amazing return specialist.
