Who cares? Tavai had seven sacks last year and switched around positions. He is also, for the record, a USC defensive player, and as was mentioned previously, the Trojans defenders almost always pan out and do well in the NFL Draft, which is ironic given the hype behind their skill players.

There is enough here to say that Tavai will be a very valuable linebacker for somebody, and if he falls to the sixth or seventh round, it will be a mistake. This guy has proven himself time and time again, and he will continue to do that.

I could care less of somebody is a little undersized and a little raw if they have proven they can play. Tavai has proven he can play. He will be a steal.

J.R. Tavai

Linebacker, USC Trojans

As a guy who has played defensive tackle, defensive end, and now linebacker, J.R. Tavai is one of the smartest players in this draft, and he is also extremely tough. Combining those traits with his performance with the USC Trojans this past year should be enough to take him higher than the sixth or seventh round of the draft.

But his size, lack of versatility, and lack of experience are holding him back.
