STEAL

32.
You could not have asked for a better match between a player and a team. Injuries were really the only thing that knocked down D.J. Humphries’s draft status. But, assuming those issues have been resolved, this is a massive offensive tackle who fell into the perfect fit.

Humphries was a bright spot on Florida’s offense when healthy as Will Muschamp tried, and failed, to install a power running offense. Of course, things would have been different if he ever found a quarterback. But that’s a story for another day.

Anyway, Humphries is going to a team that could desperately use a big offensive lineman. Pass protection had to be a huge focus for the Arizona Cardinals, and this helps address that immediately. After the injuries at quarterback last year, he fell into Bruce Arians’s lap and could be a Godsend. This is a very quick offensive tackle who stands at 6’5″ 307 pounds.

Humphries has been slightly criticized due to his inconsistent run blocking, but he can develop that. And his pass blocking made him to good to pass up. To fall to Arizona is a huge steal for the Cardinals.
. OT (Florida Gators). Round 1, Pick 24 (Arizona Cardinals). D.J. Humphries. 5. player
