Butch Jones: Leia Skywalker
In case Luke Skywalker, the last hope to overthrow the Emperor, failed, Yoda always knew that there was another.
Princess Leia Skywalker.
In case Gus Malzahn fails to knock off the Nick Saban empire, all the evidence points to another coach in the SEC: Butch Jones.
Now, Leia never got a chance to prove herself as the person to overthrow the Emperor.
And Jones has not yet proven himself as the guy to overthrow Saban should Malzahn fail long-term (which, like Luke, will not happen).
But the evidence was there for both. Leia was as force-sensitive as Luke, and she honestly was better at controlling it than Luke ever was before either went through training.
Jones has done everything at this point to prove that the Tennessee Volunteers will be back among the best as a powerhouse program except win big on the field. He’s recruited, shown improvement and development, found a quarterback, and put a youthful and deep team together that will have the majority of its players for the next three years. Winning is the last piece.
So because Jones is the second option who has not proven himself but could definitely overthrow the empire, he gets to be Princess Leia.
