Bob Stoops: Lando Calrissian

There are a few reasons we could make this connection. For startes, Lando was a friend of Han’s. Spurrier is Han, Stoops was an assistant under him.

Also, Lando has arrogance and raw skill as a fighter pilot in his own right just like Han the way Stoops it as a football coach just like Spurrier.

But a huge reason that they belong in the same class goes to how under-appreciated they are. Stoops has won a national championship wins a Big 12 Championship every other year, but he is labeled as a choker and under-achiever despite his ridiculous success.

Meanwhile, Calrissian dealt the final blow to the Galactic Empire in the movies. He blew up the second Death Star with everybody on it and the Emperor dead! How do you beat that.

Honestly, that famous scene where Vader throws Sidious down a shaft is irrelevant. Even if he didn’t do that, and even if Luke didn’t fight Vader, Palpatine would have lost thanks to Calrissian. Doesn’t he get any credit for that?

Maybe not. Unfortunately, both guys had a tendency to not be liked. In Empire Strikes Back, Lando gained a few haters with the way he betrayed Han.

Stoops always gains haters with his ridiculous quotes. But they both deserve more respect than they get.
