College Football Coaches as Star Wars Characters

Jim Harbaugh: Chewbacca

Regardless of what he ever did or didn’t say, and regardless of the fact that only two characters in the original series could understand a word he was saying, Chewbacca was well-respected, well-liked, and a very successful warrior.

The same kind of holds true for Jim Harbaugh as a head coach.

He is successful at all levels and is sure to succeed with the Michigan Wolverines. He could even take down the Saban Empire the way Chewy played a huge role in taking down the Galactic Empire.

Remember, his work with the Ewoks made the difference on Endor. Had they not been there, the stormtroopers and the Empire’s best fighters would have taken Han and Leia and the crew hostage, and the energy shield would not have been deactivated for Calrissian to be able to blow it up.

So they are both great.

But get Harbaugh in front of a camera for a press conference, and you might hear a more articulate quote from Chewy himself. Seriously, half of the stuff Harbaugh says in press conferences makes no sense.

But who cares? You know he’s going to win. And you know Chewy’s going to be a valuable asset. So who can’t like them?
