Texas

If Texas had average quarterback play they likely win eight games in Charlie Strong’s first year on the 40 Acres. With Tyrone Swoopes running the offense, the Longhorns went 6-7, so does another year of Swoopes inspire much optimism in Austin?

It doesn’t with me and while I like Jerrod Heard who is competing with Swoopes, neither player is as experienced or as talented as Golson. This would be a one-year bridge to Heard and Golson is really the type of player that Heard hopes to be one day, so this would be a glimpse into the future. Adding Golson could be good for an extra two-three wins for Texas this year.
