Golson is a native of Myrtle Beach, S.C. so a move closer to home makes sense and he would be a fit in South Carolina’s offense. The Gamecocks are breaking in a new starter for the second straight year with Dylan Thompson gone and Connor Mitch likely to take the reins, unless Golson joins the competition.
Should Golson be sold on the Gamecocks and Steve Spurrier sold on Golson, the sticking point could be an SEC bylaw for transfers with less than two years of eligibility remaining like Golson, but it doesn’t automatically preclude he can’t transfer there, but it could get sticky in the appeals process.
