Every year a few college football teams have to break in a new quarterback. Here are the Top 10 teams who won’t miss their departing quarterbacks for 2015.


Add the Ohio State Buckeyes to the list of teams since the BCS era began that won the national championship with a different quarterback from the one they had starting the previous year.

It was the second year in a row that happened and the fifth time in six years. Essentially, breaking in a new quarterback means almost nothing when it comes to determining the national champion, but that’s not all.

The last five Heisman Trophy winners were all quarterbacks, but three of them were first-year starters as well.

So looking ahead to this year, which teams that lost their quarterbacks are the least likely to even notice those losses? There are lots of factors that play into this, including the amount of talent returning in general and the system teams run.

As we rank our list, this does not dictate exactly how these teams will rank next year. It just dictates in order who is least likely to have a drop-off because of their quarterback.
