The Stanford Cardinal added another member to their 2016 recruiting class in four-star offensive lineman Clark Yarbrough.

Clark Yarbrough (Woodberry Forest, VA.) is the seventh member to commit to the Stanford Cardinal after the four-star offensive tackle gave his verbal pledge on Tuesday.

The 6-6, 270-pound offensive tackle picked David Shaw’s team over his finalists, Clemson, Duke, Florida and Virginia and held offers from the likes of LSU, Auburn, Michigan, Miami and Florida, among others. Stanford emerged as the team to beat after an unofficial visit on April 3.

He is the nation’s No. 95 overall recruit regardless of position, No. 12 offensive tackle and the No. 2 recruit in the state of Virginia, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Yarbrough is Stanford’s third-highest ranked recruit, trailing quarterback K.J. Costello and tight end Kaden Smith, and is the first offensive lineman in the class. He sent out the following note via his Twitter account to send out many thank you’s and to make his commitment public.

The presence of Costello in this class likely played a reason in Yarbrough’s decision and now the No. 31 overall recruit and No. 4 pro-style QB recruit has his blind side covered for his time on The Farm. This class is in its early stages but has the potential to be the best Shaw’s had as the head coach at Stanford.

With today’s commitment from Yarbrough, the Cardinal now own the nation’s No. 17 recruiting class and the No. 3 class in the Pac-12, trailing UCLA and USC, according to the 247Sports team rankings.
