Hagrid – Bob Stoops

Some people see Hagrid as a joke, but Hagrid was actually instrumental in the Harry Potter story. Hagrid was the one who actually introduced Harry into the world of magic. He was also a trusted friend of Albus Dumbledore, sent by Dumbledore to negotiate with other magical groups of people when it seemed a war was going to be clear. While Hagrid does not have a wand, he is powerful in his own right.

Bob Stoops has been head coach at the University of Oklahoma for a long time now. When Stoops became the head coach of Oklahoma, he very quickly changed a failing football program into a winning one and then proceeded to win a national championship in his second year.

Just as trusty Hagrid has become a fixture on the Hogwarts campus, so too has Stoops become a given part of the Sooner nation. However, Stoops hasn’t be able to bring the Sooners to a conference title in two seasons and some fear that the 2015 season will make a third. Some have started to distrust his judgment, and unless Stoops can bring his team back to a title soon people will start to think of him as a joke as well.
