Neville Longbottom – Steve Sarkisian
The first time we meet Neville, he’s looking for his lost toad. He continues to be awkward and gangly until his last year at Hogwarts, when he becomes a hero worthy of Gyffindor’s sword. Neville’s is story of coming into his own.
Steve Sarkisian’s career has taken a very similar path. When he was the head coach at the University of Washington, he never fully achieved the truly fantastic season he wanted but he did steadily make progress towards it every single year.
And then he became the head coach of the USC Trojans, a transition that wasn’t without its own awkwardness. However, his first season there has proven to be pretty successful. Sarkisian is most likely looking for a sword of his own to cut the head off of his critics and finally come into his own glory. Maybe he can borrow the mascot’s sword.
