Williams is the nation’s No. 221 overall recruit, No. 22 cornerback and the No. 14 recruit in the state of Louisiana, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. The 6-2, 166-pound defensive back hopes to carry on LSU’s reputation as ‘DBU’ (defensive back university) and with the nickname, “Greedy” he hopes to bring in more than a few interceptions while playing in Tiger Stadium.
Williams told Geaux247 that he dreamed of playing in Death Valley and that gave him the sign he needed to pull the trigger and commit today over offers from Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Ole Miss, among others.
“I had a dream that I was playing in Tiger Stadium with my family watching me, and I knew I wanted to go ahead and commit. And I just had a good relationship with all the coaches.”
With today’s commitment from Williams, LSU now has three defensive backs committed as part of their 2016 class that now has 10 recruits committed.
LSU owns the nation’s No. 6 overall class and the No. 3 class in the SEC, according to the 247Sports team rankings.
