Jalen Hurts commits to Alabama: Crimson Tide get four-star QB
The Crimson Tide picked up a huge commitment Friday evening as four-star 2016 signal caller Jalen Hurts is headed to Tuscaloosa.
The Alabama Crimson Tide picked up a big commitment late Friday evening when 2016 four-star dual-threat quarterback Jalen Hurts Channelview, TX. Channelview) announced that he was headed to Tuscaloosa.
Hurts is ranked the No. 278 player in the class of 2016. the No. 9 dual-threat quarterback and the No. 41 overall player in his class from the Lone Star State per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

As a junior, he was named the District 21-6A Overall MVP in 2014 , passing for 2,545 yards 21 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also showed that he could rush the ball, carrying the rock for 951 yards and 19 touchdowns.

He picked Alabama over offer Mississippi State, Florida and Texas A&M. Defensive line coach Bo Davis served as the primary recruiter throughout the process while offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin served as the secondary recruiter.
With the commitment of Hurts, the Crimson Tide’s 2016 class now stands at No. 7 nationally and No. 4 in the SEC per the 247Sports team rankings. The signal-caller is the seventh four-star commitment in the class and the third player from the state of Texas, joining defensive tackle Kendell Jones and Chris Owens.
This commitment certainly has to be music to Kiffin’s ears. In Hurts, he gets an explosive playmaker who can certainly pass the ball, and run it as well. At 6-foot-2, 208 pounds, he has the type of size that makes it difficult for defenders to bring him down.
