Breakout Player to Watch: Doroland Dorceus

With an open slot to take at running back, there are three guys in the mix. And they will all have different roles. Jarvis Cooper will be the physical back. Sam Craft will be the all-purpose back.

Doroland Dorceus will be the feature back. Dorceus will be a junior going into the year at 5’10” 205 pounds, and he had a solid start to the season before missing the final nine games.

Still, through the first four as a backup sophomore, Dorceus managed 237 yards for an average of more than five yards per carry along with four touchdowns. This year, as the feature back, Dorceus could really make a name for himself.

He will be playing with a loaded offense and behind a very experienced offensive line. Paxton Lynch’s abilities as a passer should open up lots of holes for Dorceus as a runner as well. And despite the fact that Lynch will be used a lot more this year, Dorceus will have plenty of opportunities to make a name for himself.

And watch for the back from New Orleans to do just that.
