Pittsburgh Panthers WR Tyler Boyd charged with DUI
Pittsburgh wide receiver Tyler Boyd was arrested on Friday and charged with a DUI.
The summer months are supposed to be stress-free months for college football players and coaches with school over until the fall semester, vacations scheduled and fall camp not for a few more weeks.

However, most coaches will admit that they always have the thought in the back of their head that they can get a phone call in the middle of the night to say one of their players has just been arrested.
That’s what happened for first-year head coach Pat Narduzzi after star wide receiver Tyler Boyd was arrested in the early Friday morning hours and charged with driving under the influence, according to Rich Walsh of KDKA.
Boyd is the Panthers best player on the roster so this isn’t a great sign from a player expected to be a leader on and off the field. He led Pitt with 78 receptions for 1,261 yards and eight touchdowns last year as a sophomore. He had 85 catches for 1,174 yards and seven touchdowns as a freshman in 2013.
It remains to be seen what disciplinary action Narduzzi takes with Boyd but with Pitt opening up against Youngstown State on Sept. 5 I wouldn’t be surprised if he sent a stern message and sat his All-American candidate at receiver for the opener.
Narduzzi can suspend his Boyd and not have it come back to hurt him against the FCS opponent like it would if Pitt was opening up against a tougher opponent from the Group of Five schools in the FBS.
