Dismuke is ranked the No. 236 overall player in his class, the No. 10 safety, and the No. 36 player in the state of California. His recruitment was handled by defensive backs coach Brian Stewart.

With this commitment, the Huskers’ 2016 class ranks No. 32 nationally and No. 8 in the Big 10, according to the 247Sports team rankings. This marks the second four-star commitment out of the ’16 class, joining guard John Raridon (West Des Moines, IA . Valley) is the other.

Dismuke accumulated seven offers in all during his recruitment as Arizona State, California, Colorado State, Michigan, and Nebraska all extended offers.

In watching his film, I saw someone who had great instincts and a feel for the game and position. As soon as a receiver caught it, Dismuke immediately began his pursuit to the ball. Coupling that with his tremendous closing speed and his ability to catch up with defenders, I saw a tremendous athlete who should add quickness and physicality to the Nebraska secondary.

He should help a Nebraska defense that was ranked No. 44 in the country in total defensive yards allowed with 4,473 (2,355 passing and 2,118 yards rushing.)  He should be particularly effective in minimizing damage done on the ground as those instincts will allow him to make plays and cover ground before the running back can get into the open field and shift into a “second gear.”

The Huskers secured a victory today, and any victory, no matter how big or small is a positive one.
