Syracuse Orange

Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars-Uptown Funk

Hey, upstate New York exists. And Uptown Funk could be the theme song for a college football team from Upstate New York. Come on Syracuse Orange fans, don’t act like you would not be all up on this song playing at your games.

After all, due to a forced name change, the Orange is a cheesy nickname, so a cheesy fight song fits it perfectly. The low brass could play the baseline, which is the music that the song starts out with. Then the rest of the band could work out the melody that Bruno Mars sings and the other parts of the music.

And Syracuse is all about surprising people when they have good football teams, as they had a good amount of successful stars in the NFL for a period of time from Marvin Harrison to Dwight Freeney to, of course, Donovan McNabb. and McNabb was the ultimate “Don’t believe me just watch!” player since he was booed by Philadelphia Eagles fans when he was drafted.

It does not represent Syracuse directly the way many of the other fight songs do, but they could make it work. They could even change it and chant “Up-State Funk You Up!”
