Couldn’t be much more self-explanatory than this, could you? The Miami Hurricanes are all about the glam of being in Miami, even though the University of Miami is not in Miami. Therefore, they should just talk about the greatness of Miami.
After all, the fans there don’t really care about the football team despite the success the program has had. If they lose all of their games, the sun will still shine, there will still be beautiful people on the beach, and the water will still be clear. Will Smith’s song “Miami” captures all of that perfectly.
The band can play the beat at the beginning, which samples an old-school soul music song, and every fan can chant “I’m going to Miami!”
Sure, the song is clean and cheesy, but who cares? The Miami fan base is cheesy, and the Miami fashion is cheesy. Fans can brag about everything that is great and fun about Miami, so even when they are losing, they can rub it in to opposing teams that they live in Miami and have other things to do after they lose football games.
But all of that aside, a song about Miami for a team representing the Miami area just makes perfect since.
