FanSided Is Looking To Fill Premium College Football Sites
Let’s face fact, college football fans are among the most fervent in all of sports. Ask a college football fan about his or her favorite team and they will weave you a tapestry of storied history, current domination, and the excitement of finding that next great diamond in the rough. Those are the voices we want here at FanSided, leading some of the best college football sites on the internet!
FanSided also has an insatiable craving for all things sports and we take covering the college football scene seriously. Naturally, we want to find a way to marry that passion for the Saturday gridiron battle with the fever pitch set for the other sports under the NCAA umbrella.
As such, FanSided is looking to fill paid editor and co-editor roles, as well as unpaid staff writer positions for a number of our top college team sites. In particular, we’re looking for committed fans to join our teams at the following sites:
- Ole Hotty Toddy (Ole Miss, Editor and staff writers)
- Fly War Eagle (Auburn Tigers, Editor and staff writers)
- Husker Corner (Nebraska Cornhuskers, Editor and staff writers)
- Gig’Em Gazette (Texas A&M, Editor and staff writers)
- Truman’s Tales (Missouri Tigers, Editor and staff writers)
- Fighting Gobbler (Virginia Tech, Editor and staff writers)
- Devils In Detail (Arizona State, Editor and staff writers)
- Big Red Louie (Louisville, Editor and staff writers)
- Southbound and Down (SEC, Co-editor and staff writers)
- Jug of Snyder (Kansas State, Editor and staff writers)
- Chop Chat (Florida State, Co-Editor and staff writers)
- Hail Florida Hail (Florida Gators, Editor and staff writers)
FanSided continues to grow and reach a broader audience daily, through our increasingly popular FanSided.com homepage and the 250+ team sites that each calls FanSided home. Our content partnership with Sports Illustrated gets our work featured at SI.com, helping to make sure that what you write won’t go unnoticed.
We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about the game and want to share their voice with countless readers. Topics are wide open and generally up to our writers, so long as they are team-related in some regard. Opinionated columns are key, provided you know what you’re talking about and can back up your opinions with relevant knowledge.
Prior experience writing in an online platform is always beneficial, but certainly not required. With a growing collection of writers within the network there is a great group to learn from, network with, and help you out along the way – making this a great place to get started if you’re an aspiring journalist, budding writer, or just simply someone looking to expand upon a hobby.
A number of our former writers have gone on to full-time careers at local newspapers or national publications, with a few even landing positions working closely with the teams themselves. We’re firm believers in creating opportunities for our own here at FanSided, as every member of our network’s leadership has been promoted from within.
Think you might have some interest in joining the team or do you know someone who would? Head on over and complete our online application. You’ll be asked to share some insight into why you’d like to join us and for a sample of your writing.
We’ll be in touch from there and will be happy to answer whatever questions you might have as we further discuss some of the expectations that we ask from our writers.
If you should have any questions about the roles, please feel free to reach out to kyle.franzoni@fansided.com, and I will be glad to answer any questions.
