Oklahoma State Cowboys

Nicki Minaj-Starships

The Oklahoma State Cowboys were always meant to have a program that could be great, and after Les Miles laid a foundation, Mike Gundy has helped the program realize its potential. They are now competitive with the Oklahoma Sooners, have come away with a conference championship, and should have had the chance to play for a national championships.

Given their resources and their location in Oklahoma, bordering the fertile Texas recruiting ground, they were meant to fly.

So, let’s go ahead and throw in the Nicki Minaj song, “Starships,” for them to use as their fight song. After all, Nicki Minaj said, “Starships were meant to fly.” It is a perfect fit for Oklahoma State, as both the program and the artist were meant to fly.

And now they are flying. The only difference the Cowboys do not seem to have reached their full potential yet, so the sky is even higher for them.

As Oklahoma State’s band plays this, there is no set way the instrumentation needs to go between the beat and the chorus, so the fans would all enjoy the music.
